Have you tried to the pinhole cast on? There are some great things about this cast on. You get started knitting in the round and have a finished product without any big gaps in the center point. That being said, this has to be the most difficult cast on I’ve tried so far in my knitting career. I think I’ve finally learned a few tricks to keep up my sleeve for getting the Musselburgh Hat started. It’s incredibly fiddly until you get a few rounds into the increases of the pattern.
